Steps
- Draw a level line at shelf height and mark bracket positions.
- Drill pilots at studs, or set toggles between them.
- Mount brackets level, then rest the shelf and mark its screw holes.
- Fasten the shelf to brackets from underneath.

Check bracket screws yearly, especially above bookshelves that get loaded heavier over time. (Suggested interval: every 1 year.)
