Replacement cost
$6–$20
Typical lifespan
3 yrs
Maintenance
every 6 months
Tools you may need
- Tarp clips
- Bungee cords or rope
Steps
- Fold a double thickness of tarp fabric where you want the anchor point.
- Open the clip jaw and seat the fold deep into the teeth.
- Clamp or screw the jaw shut and pull-test by hand.
- Tie off to your anchor with the clip's ring or eye; retension after the first wind.
Maintenance
Rinse off grit that dulls the teeth; UV-brittle clips crack — replace at first whitening. (Suggested interval: every 6 months.)
