Curtain Rod Rings, Finials & Holdbacks
Hardware · Easy
The rod furniture that makes drapes hang right: slide rings for smooth draw, finials to cap the rod ends, and holdbacks to frame the open curtain. Lost or broken pieces show — replacements sell by diameter.
Replacement cost
$5–$30
Typical lifespan
10 yrs
Maintenance
every 1 year
Tools you may need
- Drill or screwdriver (holdbacks)
- Tape measure
- Level
Steps
- Measure the rod diameter and buy matching-size rings and finials.
- Thread finials on and slide rings over the rod end before rehanging.
- For holdbacks: mark the position level with the bracket and about a third in from the frame edge.
- Anchor into studs or use wall anchors, then hang the curtain panel back over the holdback.
Maintenance
Re-check holdback anchors yearly; curtain pull-force works light fittings loose. (Suggested interval: every 1 year.)
